World Finswimming Cup Kicks Off in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi hosts the World Finswimming Cup for the first time in the region. Over 400 athletes from 15 countries are participating. The event runs until Monday.


World Finswimming Cup Kicks Off in Abu Dhabi

Today, the World Finswimming Cup «Abu Dhabi 2025» kicks off in Abu Dhabi. For the first time in the region, the Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club is hosting the tournament at the Mohammed bin Zayed City Sports Center, in cooperation with the World Underwater Federation.

The World Cup is one of the most prominent sporting events on the World Federation's calendar, bringing together the world's fastest swimmers in competitions characterized by excitement, speed, and skill. Over 400 swimmers from 70 clubs and academies across 15 European and Arab countries are participating.

The event will continue until next Monday and will feature a series of thrilling races that combine extreme speed, physical power, and high skill, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's status as a global hub for water sports and a host for major international events.

President of the World Underwater Federation Anna Azhanova stated in a press interview: «We are proud to be holding the World Finswimming Cup in Abu Dhabi for the first time. This tournament reflects the message of the World Underwater Federation to develop finswimming globally and inspire the next generation of athletes».

President of the Egyptian and Arab Federations, Vice President of the World Underwater Federation Samhed Shadli added: «We are proud to see Abu Dhabi host this special edition of the World Finswimming Cup. This event embodies a strong partnership between the World Federation and the UAE in developing water sports in the region».
